As lead sponsor of the 2026 Healthy Working Lives Conference, Britvic Ireland was proud to support Northern Ireland’s flagship event dedicated to workplace wellbeing, resilience and organisational health.
This year’s conference brought together more than 190 HR professionals, health and safety leads, operational managers and wellbeing practitioners at the Galgorm Resort to explore how employers can build healthier, more sustainable working environments.
The half-day conference programme focused on authentic communication, leadership and practical action, and was delivered in partnership with key sponsor Britvic Ireland and supporting partner Henderson Group.
A highlight of the event was an interview between BBC Health Correspondent Marie-Louise Connolly and TV doctor Dr Ranj Singh, who explored the importance of empathy, openness and leadership in building healthier workplace cultures. Delegates also took part in breakout sessions focused on movement, compassionate leadership, menstrual health and cultural competency, offering practical insight into some of the key issues shaping workplace wellbeing today.
Health Minister Mike Nesbitt, who welcomed delegates to the event, said: “Healthy workplaces are essential to the wellbeing of our population and the strength of our economy. I was encouraged to see employers, practitioners and business leaders come together at Healthy Working Lives to explore how we can better support people’s physical, mental and emotional health at work. Events like this help keep workplace wellbeing high on the agenda and encourage action that can make a real difference.”
Dr Lisa McIlvenna, Managing Director at Business in the Community, said: “Healthy Working Lives is about giving employers the insight, confidence and practical tools they need to create healthier, more resilient workplaces. The conference brings together expert speakers, lived experience and practical discussion, helping delegates think differently and from a range of perspectives, about how they support their people. We’re certain that attendees will have left with ideas they can put into action in their own organisations.”
Emma Gardner, External Corporate Communications Manager at Britvic Ireland, said: “At Britvic Ireland, we believe a healthy workforce is the foundation of a thriving business. Supporting Healthy Working Lives reflects our commitment to helping employers create environments where people feel valued, supported and able to perform at their best. It was fantastic to be part of conversations helping organisations take practical steps to improve workplace wellbeing.”
Kathy Simpson, Group HR Director at Henderson Group, said: “Creating a healthy workplace is not a one-off initiative, it is an ongoing commitment shaped by leadership, listening, and a culture where people feel able to speak openly. Healthy Working Lives offered a valuable opportunity to hear from others, reflect on the challenges employers are facing and share practical ideas that can help build more supportive and inclusive workplaces. We were proud to support an event helping to drive this important conversation forward.”
